Types of Back Pain

Back pain can be the most bothersome of all the pains. If not taken due care of, it can make your life miserable. To treat the back pain you should first know its type and cause. Only then, would you be able to treat it right. Diagnosing the cause of any back pain may not be easy for anyone as it is hard to recall as to exactly when was it started. Most of the back pains occur in the long run as a result of some problem that had been going on for quite some time. All you can do is just consider the case to be the resultant of any strenuous activity you must have done in the past.

Back pains can be classified in many ways, on different basis. On the basis of severity and duration, the types of back pain are known to be: acute, sub-acute and chronic back pains. The pain that lasts or goes on even after 12th week is known to be the chronic pain which may require special care. The acute pain usually goes on its own or by any home treatment adopted by you or may be through right positioning or exercise. On the basis of part of their existence, the back pains are classified in into three again, neck pain, pain in the upper back and lower back. The lower back pain may be due to problems in the disc, infection in the organs like kidneys or uterus or even due to bone fractures in that area.

In case, your back pain persists for longer and you are not able to identify the type of back pain, do not even think about the treatment on your own as it may make the situation even more critical. Clinical diagnosis may really help in this regard as once you know what is bothering your back, you know how to go about it.
